TEXT

The construction of the Jacques Chaban Delmas bridge allows for the completion of the loop of Bordeaux's boulevards, and positions Brazza into a new central position at the entryway for the whole right bank area. The future neighborhood develops out of the landscape of the right bank, anchored in its geography and history. In continuation of the Park aux angéliques located along the river, the strong and pronounced organization of the landscape comes about from molding the plots of land into strips running perpendicular to the Garonne, a form inherited from the agricultural and industrial past. This serves in strengthening the overall landscape pattern that extends from the river to the hills, while maintaining the vis-à-vis with the historical facade of the left bank. The Park aux angéliques designed along the banks of the Garonne extends therefore into the neighborhood's interior through the creation of these green strips: three wide avenues traversing the neighborhood, perpendicular to the river. Spacious lawns surround the paths, where the most diverse uses and activities can take place. Communal gardens arranged between the strips are framed by the crossing roads. These become social, neighborhood places, with an intimate atmosphere, and a vegetation strictly related to river landscapes.
