These gardens are located on the outskirts of northern Rome, nestled between the Insugherata nature reserve and the Inviolatella Borghese park. Our design centers on amplifying the landscape that surrounds the building complex, recreating covered embankments, groves, rows of trees, and orchards. The site’s four courtyards are transformed into distinct themed gardens, each built around a different tree species (palm, eucalyptus, pine, and fig) and underplanted with a lush and varied shrub layer. Dense groves expand the network of trees rising throughout the site, while framing views and accentuating access points. The parking lots are remade with permeable surfaces. A vibrant understory, bursting with a wide range of species, bolsters and brightens the canopy above. Thermophilic meadows blanket building rooftops with ecosystems well-suited to high temperatures.
