Visual and territorial coherence of Île Seguin

The landscape design of the outdoor spaces at the Pointe Amont cultural and arts centre draws on the simple and coherent design language we have already established on Île Seguin (park and public spaces), ensuring landscape and ecological continuity. The landscape language of the plinth – the public space extending from the riverbanks to the ground floor of the buildings – is continued into the blocks. Visual openings connect the buildings to the riverbanks. All roof terraces, whether accessible or not, are planted, featuring layered gardens on slabs or thermophilic grasslands. These spaces aid evapotranspiration and the thermal regulation of the buildings, whilst helping to manage rainwater runoff. The water collected in this way is reused for watering, reducing the consumption of drinking water. These planted roof terraces extend the island’s visual and territorial coherence vertically.
